To be honest, I didn't need these accusations of steroids and HGH to hate Roger Clemens. He was once my idol, even when he got fat and looked like the end was near in the mid-1990's. Then he went to Toronto, where he "reinvented" himself and won two Cy Young awards. And then then went to the Yankees, after swearing he would never pitch in New York - the rest is history. And so now, after being elevated to the level of Barry Bonds, Roger is speaking out against all these accusations.
Here's the problem Rocket: Why now? Why not months ago when the Mitchell Investigation contacted you and gave you a chance to refute the charges before the report came out? All the cheaters listed in the Mitchell Report were contacted in order to clear their names before anything went public - not a single player cooperated, that includes you Roger. If you are innocent then why are you acting so desperate? I'm waiting for the God reference like all celebrities gone bad do these days.
So you're going to talk on 60 Minutes? Well if they toss you softballs like Katie Couric did to Alex Rodriguez a couple of weeks ago, then I can see why. You won't have to worry about any tough questions on that joke of a News Show. Fact is Roger, cooperating with the original investigation was the best way to clear your name. You and others like you didn't take is seriously enough and now you are backtracking to save your hallowed statistics.
Take a look at this very short, ridiculous and apparently edited video of Roger Clemens pleading his case on his Website. Long-time Sox fans know that Roger usually puts his foot in his mouth so as you watch this think about how many takes Roger needed to get this "heartfelt" plea off his steroid-enhanced chest.
