| comedy, Death, George Carlin, religion, RIP
Readers of AngryJed may notice that I have often referenced George Carlin when making a point. And there was a very good reason - I agreed with him nearly 100% of the time. From the environment (the planet is fine - the people are fucked) to his views on celebrity causes (Fuck Lance Armstrong, his one ball, and his stupid fucking yellow bracelets), George Carlin's act did more than make me laugh. As a matter of fact he was not just my favorite comedian of all-time, he was my favorite philosopher.
He covered topics that our pussified, P-C World was afraid to cover, in a language that would not be uttered in public by other's of his age. It was like having your grandpa tell you dirty jokes in front of the whole family. I consider myself extremely lucky to have been able to see his act on two occasions - and then watched as those acts solidified into his last two HBO Specials.
And although George Carlin's passing fills me with a strange sadness - hey I never met the guy - I feel like he would be pissed if we took it easy on him. I can picture him now, complaining:
"What? Now that I'm dead everyone's gonna suck my dick? Get the fuck outta here!"
So Georgie, now that you're gone I think it's only fair to have a clip on your religious views. The way I see it, if we truly are made in God's image, then God must have one hell of a sense of humor:
