Need more proof that there are two justice systems in the US? Scumbag Bernie Madoff can live in exile in his luxury condo - like Napoleon on Elba, even though he is the all-time Ponzi champion. Meanwhile if I was caught stealing from someone, I'd spend some time in jail before trial. I don't care if he is a threat to run...when has that ever mattered - he should be held without bail. Or like when they catch a criminal and set his bail too high for anyone to pay...
In the US you are innocent until proven guilty - Madoff already admitted guilt, he does not need to be proven of anything. Oh and he wouldn't have been able to mail $1 Million in jewellery to his family if he was in a cell awaiting trail.
You know the double-standard - cocaine, a rich white man's drug hold less severe penalties than crack, a poor black man's drug. Think I'm comparing apples to oranges? Guess again...the rich can afford 'justice'.
